Hi, I’m DJ Barbod — a 27-year-old music producer and DJ based in Tehran. For nearly eight years, I’ve been immersed in the world of music, producing, mixing, and curating sounds that connect deeply with listeners. Music has always been more than just a hobby for me — it’s my way of storytelling, expression, and building bridges between generations and genres.
My main focus today is podcast production. I currently run four ongoing podcast series, each with its own identity and purpose — but all rooted in one shared mission:
To give listeners a chance to experience both old and new music in the most professional, curated, and satisfying way possible.
The heart of this vision comes alive in my two main podcasts:
 Tehran Feat and  Latari — released monthly and crafted with high attention to detail. These shows combine the best of Iranian pop and electronic music, blending tracks from the 1970s all the way to the most current hits. Each track is carefully selected, then fully re-edited, remixed, and mastered to create a seamless and modern soundscape. Our goal is to let listeners enjoy both nostalgic tunes and the freshest beats, all in one cohesive and energetic flow.
In addition to those, I also produce:
Trader — a more experimental and multilingual podcast that explores global music. If you enjoy hearing tracks in different languages and styles from around the world, this one’s for you.
Travel — a slower-paced but deeply emotional journey into traditional and regional Iranian music. We bring local sounds to life through modern production, making them accessible to a wider and younger audience.
My production philosophy is simple: Quality first. Every mix, transition, and arrangement is designed with precision. We don’t just play tracks — we rebuild them. Every song you hear in our podcasts has been professionally re-arranged, mixed, and mastered to ensure the highest sound quality possible.
I draw inspiration from many genres — from house and deep techno to Persian pop and ambient textures. I work primarily with Ableton Live, various analog synthesizers, and custom sample packs that help me shape a signature sound that’s both clean and emotional.
One of the best parts of this journey has been the feedback from listeners. Hearing that someone connected with a forgotten track from the 1980s or discovered a new favorite through our show — that’s what keeps me going.
